As caterpillar changes into an attractive and productive butterfly so also you need to consistently experience growth in your personal life. But you must be willing to change. Every living thing on this earth is designed for growth. However not many people are willing to dedicate themselves to a deliberate program of growth. This is because growth requires change, and most of us are reluctant to change. But without change, growth is impossible. Life is designed for motion not stagnation. Those who put up with stagnation eventually end up in frustration. The average person may not mind change as long as it affects someone else. But we put up resistance when it affects us personally.Dear friend, if you’re not changing, you’re not growing. Growing means giving up familiar but limiting beliefs, values, and work, relationships or thought patterns. Change is inevitable. Everybody has to deal with it because if we are not growing we start dying. Life is designed for growth, for continuous improvement. To experience personal development you must make a choice for growth, because growth is a choice. It is impossible for you to try and maintain your current position and make progress at the same time. Don’t dig in, but keep moving. Settle this once and for all. The only way to improve the quality of your life is to improve yourself through consistent growth. To grow your business, grow yourself. To have a better wife, be a better husband. To have better children be a better parent. To have better friends, be a better friend. One of the greatest discoveries you’ll make in life is this: as you change and improve; things and people will change and improve around you. Since the only person you really have the ability to change anyway is yourself, begin by changing yourself. Make a choice to grow everyday. And start with what you have where you are. The things that you have done to be where you are today very basic. Because they are things you have done daily over a long period of time. Things like breathing, eating, sleeping and going to toilet. Take note they are things you must do for yourself. You see, growth is a non-transferable responsibility; start now. Feed your mind with the good stuff, buy books, attend seminar, volunteer for community services and any other ways you can think of to improve your self. And begin to apply the things you are learning. Change your attitude and your altitude level will change There is nothing that brings contentment in life like growth. Whatever or whoever is not growing becomes a source of concern. Growth has many advantages. When we grow we change. And when we change things happen around us. Life becomes more favourable. You see, there are many good opportunities available for us to enjoy. But we cannot gain access to them until we are matured enough to handle them. Growth today guarantees a better tomorrow. Life responds to values not titles. When you add to your personal value everyday, you will eventually attract what you are worth. Now to grow you must be teachable. The greatest obstacle to growth may not be ignorance. It may be knowledge. The point at which you feel that you know it all is the point is the point at which you stop growing. Really, the more you know, the more you should know that you don’t know. No wonder former basketball coach, John Wooden once said, “It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts.” Always remember that there is a higher level than where you are. And when you remain teachable, your potential is almost limitless.Make a decision to grow now .

Even though the vast majority of my clients are business people, I sometimes get to work with young children – by “young” I mean children who have not reached that psychological watershed of somewhere between eleven and twelve years. That’s when a child’s sponge-like open-mindedness begins to close down – as the child moves from being a child into adolescence and onward, God help them, into adulthood.
I have often lamented the fact that the vast majority of children will “grow up” to become “normal” adults. On one occasion, Jack (a fifteen-year-old) explained to me how some of his schoolmates were behaving badly, one or two of them had got into drugs and they had generally become not nice people (they were not his exact words!). Jack concluded, however, “I can’t wait to be an adult because, I assume, that when people become adults all that bad behaviour stops!” Ouch! I had to tell him that that was simply not the case. In general, so-called “normal” adults simply do not know how to behave themselves – it’s not a conscious evaluation of what “behave” means, because years of psychological work has concluded that normal people are incapable of conscious evaluation – they live unconsciously, ceding all responsibility for their behaviour to their automatic subconscious. In effect this means that open-minded children develop into normal, mindless, automatic adults.
Is it possible that we can actually call that “development”? Indeed, what does what does the whole concept of “Personal Development” actually mean?
Personal Development is big business – just Google the phrase and you’ll find out how big! Personal Development accounts for a growing market sector in the traditional publishing industry as so-called self-help and popular psychology books abound. And, yet, the fact of the matter is that, at this very moment in time, there are far more mindless people on this planet than at any time in this planet’s history. Research indicates that the rise of this mindlessness went hand-in-hand with the rise of the nation state – starting with the rise of the Sumarian empire some 3,500 years ago. And, in the intervening period, the tribal way of life – where everyone looked after everyone else – has gradually died out.
As a result, modern “developed” society is one where mindlessness is the norm – that’s why “normal” people can be best described as “normal”. It is a derogatory term – because seven decades of psychological work concludes that normal people are mindless and mad. They invest just about 1% of their energy in doing what they’re supposed to be doing. Their subconscious minds live in the past – but because it’s subconscious, they’re not even aware of it. It’s horrible – and we can see the results every day in the way people treat each other at home, at work and on the international stage.
So why would any child submit to the idea of becoming a normal adult? Is it not normal adults that squeeze the capacity for abnormal unlimited abundance out of our children. After all, it’s perfectly feasible for a seven-year-old to believe that she can be a famous actress or singer, that he can be a world-class footballer, or that they can be astronauts – until parents, teachers and the whole system conspires to try to drag those “unrealistic” dreams back to reality.
So, back to the key question – does anyone need “personal development”? Or should we, as normal adults, be talking about un-developing ourselves? Our children (who will, if nothing changes, inevitably grow into normal adults) have their view of the world the right way around. They experience the moment – the much vaunted “Now” that great minds from the Buddha and Jesus Christ to Tony de Mello and Ekhart Tolle have talked about. Young children are generally not pre-occupied with worry and they do not live in the past. Contrast this with the normal adult whose subconscious is buried in the past, whose conscious is dancing around to the distractive music of constant useless thought – often worrying about the future.
Have you children? Do you want to squeeze the life out of them – an inevitability of mindless normal adult behaviour? You were once a child – how about becoming childlike again? Is it not the case that the normal adult needs some personal un-development? Do we not need to strip away the nonsense that our past-focused subconscious minds impose upon our “life” in the present moment? Should children should be teaching adults – not the other way around?
Humanistic psychologists – those working on the psychology of happiness (and we all yearn for happiness) have long been of the view that adults need to “unlearn”. We don’t need to learn anything new – it is in our nature to be happy, content and focused in the joy of experiencing the here and now. And it is in the here and now that you will truly find peace of mind. Wouldn’t you like that? Wouldn’t you like to be effortlessly happy and successful?
The journey starts here. All you have to do is become, once again, childlike. All you have to do is experience the present moment (with no focus on the past or worry about the future). All you have to do is come to your senses. You have five of them – use them.
Personal development is key if you want to be successful in anything in life or in anything you want to accomplish. The first step is to have that strong desire because everything starts with you thinking and having that burning desire to achieve whatever you like and want from life. Self-improvement is the first step by working on yourself then you will change to become whatever person you aspire to be. So first you need to identify the problem you are facing which can be lack of motivation for example and by doing so you are going through the first step of self-improvement. You need to analyze that and figure a way to overcome that by creating a definite plan which you will follow daily until you have achieve what you want which is to be a well motivated person that can attack anything he wants anytime and win!
Second is to build the desire you need to achieve you goals. To do so you must think of what you want in life and write it down on a piece of paper and read it every morning and night before you sleep. By doing so you are putting that thought into your mind to build that burning and strong desire in your mind and self to achieve it no matter what happens and that you will overcome every single obstacle that comes you way. There is a saying by Napoleon Hill that I want to quote which goes like this “A thought backed up by a burning desire has a tendency of transmuting itself into its physical equivalent.” That means whatever you think and program into your head and with that you have the strong desire to back it up you can make it a reality!
Those are the few main steps to success that you should follow if you are looking and wanting to change your life for the best. There are many more tips and secrets to come so stay in touch.
If it is wealth you are looking for you have come to right place at the right time. I am sponsoring people of great motivaton and self confidence into my Millionaire MasterMind Group it is very precious to me as well. My time is worth about $1000/hr. Only if you are serious about becoming a millionaire apply for more information go to http://wealthcreations.ca/
To sustain your growth you must create time to invest in yourself. You will be amazed how much you can take in while riding in your car or while traveling. Henry Ford said, “It’s been my observation that most successful people get ahead during the time that others waste.” Always have a book, a magazine or a Walkman cassette player handy. Keep taking in information. Output answers to input. You can’t get out of yourself more than you have gotten into yourself. It is also important that you focus on a few major goal. You can’t grow in every direction. You just can’t become an expert in every field. Focus on your most important roles and goals in life and keep learning in those areas. John Maxwell once said, “Self- development draws you toward your destiny.”No business will outgrow its Chief Executive. To grow outside, you must first grow inside. And to experience continuous growth, we must have a definite plan for growth. We cannot leave our personal development to chance or to extra time. We hardly have surplus time anyway. Growth must be deliberate. So, schedule time for your personal growth daily. Schedule time to plan your day or your week. Schedule time to read books or listen to tapes. Schedule time to attend seminars and conferences. Schedule time with your mentors.Remember consistency is important. If plants are soaked in large amounts of water only once a week or once a month, they will soon die. They take in water consistently. Just make sure you are learning something new everyday. Be willing to pay the price for growth. It requires discipline. It is easier to watch comedy on the T.V than to read or polish your skills. It costs money to buy books and tapes. However remember that in life pain is inevitable. It is either the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The pain of regret is worse. Through discipline you can make investments in your life today. Investment is the key to achievement. Theodore Roosevelt Former President of the United States once said, “There has not yet been a person in our history who led a life of ease whose name is worth remembering.”You must rise to a new level, so you can take your business to a new level. Pay the price for growth today; you will win the prize of success tomorrow.
No matter what aspects of your life you desire to improve, you can purchase personal development programs to help you achieve your goals. You can buy programs to help you lose weight, gain confidence, make more money or create a balanced life. Unfortunately, these programs can cost an arm and a leg and it can be much more affordable to create your own self improvement plan.
Self improvement is a journey, so before you start on your way you’ll need to know your destination. What aspects of your life do you want to change? The best way to succeed at personal transformation is to focus on one thing at a time. You don’t need to have totally transformed one area of your life before starting work on another area, but it is helpful to have made significant inroads. This way you can use the power of focus to your advantage and you don’t dissipate your energies.
After you have decided on your self improvement goal, it is important to get your bearings on where you are now. If you can honestly evaluate your current circumstances, you will be able to work out the steps to help you move from where you are now to where you want to be. For example, if you want to lose weight, your first step is to weigh yourself and record the information. Continue to weigh yourself at the end of each week and record the result. Over time, you should see the figures decreasing and the weight coming off. These results give you important feedback so you know if your weight loss program is working. The same is true for all forms of self improvement. You need to be able to measure improvement over time so you know if your efforts are bearing fruit.
Once you have decided on your goal, you need to create a plan to help you achieve it. We all generally know the things we need to do to improve our lives, but most of us lack the discipline to follow through consistently on these things. A workable plan can provide the framework for action but you will still need to be disciplined about taking the necessary steps every single day.
The simpler your plan, the better. By taking simple steps consistently towards your goal, you have a much better chance of achieving it than by trying to follow a complicated, demanding plan.
As you move towards your goal, make sure you evaluate your progress. Weekly evaluations can be helpful and guide you to look at areas that might need adjustment. If weekly assessments of progress are too close together, work out your own time frame; just make sure you measure your progress at regular intervals.
A part of this regular evaluation is to work out what actions are working well and what ones need to be adjusted or replaced. By simply monitoring your progress in this way, you will be able to keep on track for achieving your self improvement goal.
Anyone can design their own self improvement program. By simply asking yourself the right questions and writing down your answers you will be able to develop an action plan to move you from where you are now to where you want to be in any area of your life. Your self improvement journey begins with the first step.
A manifesto is a series of statements clarifying what you stand for in your life as well as what you won’t stand for.
Having a personal manifesto helps keep your focus on who you are and your purpose in life. I created my personal manifesto as a certificate with a personalized logo and it’s up on the wall in front of my desk.
You may be wondering why it’s so important for women in business to have some kind of measuring stick, such as a personal manifesto, to use in your decision making process for personal growth and professional development. At a conference I met a man who was extremely successful at predicting the futures market, which is a part of the stock market.
He felt he was really successful in just about every area of his life except for his weight. He was extremely overweight. He had gone to see his mentor in person, and they had a conversation where his mentor asked him, “What are your rules about your weight?”
He thought about it, and he realized, “Okay. I’ve been so successful at my work because I have clear-cut rules on how I do everything in my business.”
He also quickly realized that he had never set up any personal development rules about what his health was supposed to look like. He had a vision and an action plan in every other area of his life, and, surprise, the one area of his life that wasn’t working was his health and his weight.
So he went home from that meeting and spent several hours writing out what he wanted his health to look like; much like a personal health manifesto.
He decided he was going to lose 70 pounds in 70 weeks, without starving himself or being on a diet. Then he planned to make millions by telling other people how to do it.
This is only possible because he established a plan, an outline of what health looked like to him, and what he would and wouldn’t have in his life pertaining to his health.
That’s what your personal manifesto is. It’s the rules you’ve set for yourself to be who you are. It is an easy reference for women in business. When something comes up and you aren’t sure what to do, you can look at your personal manifesto and see if it fits with what you wrote. It won’t be long before you don’t have to look at your manifesto at all. It will become a natural part of your internal decision making process for personal growth and professional development.
One multi-millionaire friend of mine mentioned she was setting up a new real estate investing partnership. She talked about the rules they set for how they were going to find properties, who the partnership would acquire them with, and how they would sell them.
Everything you want to be successful at needs a set of rules or guidelines that you follow so you have a way to determine your level of success and a way to judge opportunities as being a good fit or not for personal growth and professional development.
You don’t have to call it rules. If you have a problem with the word rules, which most women in business do, you can use guidelines, blueprint, roadmap, or whatever you want to call it.
Creating a personal manifesto is the first step in deciding what’s most important to you.
If we want to attain any goal, achieve any aim or reach any objective we all know that we need a large amount of confidence. We need confidence in ourselves, the plan we are using and our own abilities to work that plan. However, self confidence is merely a by-product of high self esteem but do we really know what that is or how to get it?
Self esteem begins with a positive self-image. This involves holding a balanced yet loving, approving and healthy self-view. However, it is not arrogance nor is it narcissism. True self esteem gives us a balanced realistic appreciation for our own talents. It allows us honest introspection of our strengths and a complete acceptance of our human limitations. High self esteem is a reflection of the true value in which you hold yourself. It also frees you from any overtly polarised view of others and how you perceive they think of you.
Individuals with high self esteem have a strong sense of themselves. They know who they are and what they want. They have a realistic world view of others and themselves. Their self-image is positive but also very rational.
However, do not think that people with high self esteem always feel great and proud of themselves. Self esteem is about having a balanced view of yourself. Everyone makes mistakes and people with high self-esteem are no exception. They also behave in ways or make decisions that they later wish they hadn’t. The key difference with these people is that they recover quickly make the changes they need to make, apologize for their behaviour where necessary and learn from the experience. Individuals who have developed a healthy degree of self-esteem are able to use these situations as a form of feedback and learn from them. It is alright to feel bad about their behaviour and make atonement for it but they do not let it effect their entire sense of identity nor do they carry it with them as emotional baggage.
If you are rude or aggressive with a person it doesn’t mean you are a terrible person or should be punished in some way. People with high self esteem are aware of this. These people are capable to taking full responsibility for their behaviour, admitting that it was undesirable. They will then try to make the situation “right” before they learn from it and put it behind them. They do not see themselves as bad people, just a good person that made a bad mistake. However, people with low self esteem tend to pile blame on themselves and think themselves unworthy and unlovable because they are “so bad” and “so unworthy and worthless”. They think because they have behaved badly it is a reflection of the total person they are when, in fact, it is only one portion of the complex personality they have. If you have high self esteem and you exhibit behaviour you yourself don’t like you tend to work on the problem until you either eradicate it or reverse it. People with high self esteem can do this relatively easily because they don’t see a change in one aspect of their character as an assault on their whole personality! So they can still have self criticism but also have high self-esteem at the same time.
A key to being in this mental and emotional state is to avoid generalising about mistakes made by ourselves and others, recognising that our weaknesses are part of who we are, while recognising that some of our behaviour can be changed without it affecting our sense of identity!
So start to see yourself as those who love you see you. Ask them what they think. Ask them to be realistic and to point out your good characteristics. Then take stock of yourself and start to believe in yourself. You can develop the skills needed to be critical of yourself, in order to learn and grow, while at the same time realizing that you are a unique, special, loving yet slightly flawed child of the Universe. You are wonderful. Accept that!

Personal Development teachers and Self Improvement gurus have constantly told you that if you want to create joy, abundance and success in your life yu must first change your beliefs. They tell you that in order to achieve the same level of success as the high-achievers you must also be willing to take some form of action no matter how small it is. But how do you motivate yourself to take action when your whole world seems to be telling you that you can never achieve your goals?
There is only one way!
Change your beliefs – This is real Personal Development Power!
The greatest of Self Improvement teachers tell you that in order to achieve success and have the ability to take action you must first alter your beliefs. But why is this and how can you do it?
Well, our beliefs are merely a set of thoughts that you have about a given subject. They do not need to be, and usually aren’t, based of any real hard facts. Did you know that there are many psychological studies that show the views people have about themselves are wrong. Most people tend to be very hard on themselves and rarely give themselves creadit for their achievements or recognize their own strengths. If you are a normal human beiing then you are doing exactly the same thing!
Since thought always precedes action, it is imperative to change your disempowering, self-defeating destructive beliefs to empowering ones that will create drive, confidence, faith and, ultimately, success!
By changing your beliefs your core thoughts will change and thus your actions will be completely different than they have been before and in alignment with your desires. I can give you 3 simple, yet highly effective, steps which you can start to use immediately to change your beliefs and your life. They only require a small amount of effort but you do need a lot of persistence to keep following them! Remember its all about taking action.
Step 1. Learn to recognize your emotional responses and you will learn to control your thoughts.
When you begin to watch your emotions you will learn to control your thoughts. Our emotions are just a by-product of the thoughts we are thinking. When you think a sad thought you get sad and when you think a happy thought you feel happy. Although to many people this sounds overly simply YOU must realize that there is great wisodm and huge rewards that come from watching your feelings.
When you feel bad it means you are thinking about the things you do not want. When you are experiencing joyful happy emotions it is a clear indication that your thoughts are in the same direction as your goals and desires. Feeling good means you are focusing on the things in life that you really want! Teach yourself to be aware of your emotional state. By watching how you feel you can easily regulate your thoughts.
Make the decision now to watch how you are feeling, especially when you are concentrated on your goals and desires. When you feel bad and are experiencing negative emotions it is a sign that your thinking is in the wrong direction. Feeling bad is an indication that you are focused on the things in life that you do not want. If you are feeling good then you are focused on the benefits of actually having what you want. You always get more of what you focus on even quantum physics is now telling us this!
So, use your emotions to gauge how you are feeling and if you are feeling bad then begin immediately to change your thoughts to the opposite. Focus on what you want until you begin to feel good. Through persistence you will thus condition yourself for success.
Step2. Let Go!
Don’t try to force the issue by trying to work out every little detail of how you are going to achieve your desires. Just by focusing on them you set in motion powerful forces that will bring people, situations and circumstances that will open up opportunities for achieve what you want.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a plan of action. In fact this is very desirable. Just don’t get so caught up in the plan that you lose sight of the goal.
Learn to have an optimistic yet detached view. By grabbing and trying to force every situation in your favour you merely cause yourself frustration. This will mean you never enjoy the journey towards success but more than that it means you are focusing on the lack of your desire. You always get more of what you focus on!
Step 3. Take action!
Being flexible and allowing the Universe to show you the way towards your goals and desires is definitely the best way to achieve success.
It is necessary, however, for you to take some action or at least be willing to take some. Take one step forward and the Universe will take ten steps to meet you!
The whole point of changing your beliefs is so that your thoughts change and thus your actions change also. If you take action, even tiny baby steps, towards your desires and goals you have already ensured that you will eventually reach them.
If you want to walk from LA to New York you may feel overwhelmed by the sheer hugeness of the goal. However, if you walk 5 miles every day within a week you will be 35 miles closer to your goal. It may take you almost a year and a half to reach your destination but it is possible when you break the goal down and take some action! When you are willing to take action you will find that strange things begin to happen. You may just find that the Universe sends a Porsche to give you a lift! – “The journey of a thousands miles begins with a single step”, Chinese proverb.
If you diligently follow the 3 steps I have outlined I promise you that your life will be transformed and your dreams will be fulfilled in ways that will amaze you.
